Goal 1 of Sustainable Textiles Switzerland

Why climate matters to us.

Our contribution to the net zero target

As a manufacturing company in a CO₂-intensive industry, we cannot avoid the issue of climate. In the long term, we want to reduce all CO₂ emissions along our textile value chain by up to 50%.

The foundations are in place: using the Code Gaia platform tool, we record our emissions systematically, up to the sewing stage and including transport. We are currently assessing the roadmap for our site in Switzerland and for the sewing facilities in North Macedonia, with the aim of starting implementation in 2027 and continuously reducing our emissions.

Our goal by 2030

Reduce all CO₂ emissions along our value chain by up to 50%.

Where we stand today

Our CO₂ emissions analysis using the Code Gaia platform tool is available, and emissions up to the sewing stage, including transport, have been recorded. We are currently developing our reduction targets in cooperation with Klima Charta Zug+. Together with Wald-Klimaschutz Schweiz, we support projects for our valuable forests – as CO₂ stores, as habitats for animals and plants, and as a sustainable resource for CO₂ offsetting and a healthy climate. On 17 November 2026, the Klima Charta Zug+ team will carry out an on-site assessment at our premises in Hagendorn, based on our CO₂ emissions analysis and review, with the aim of defining reduction proposals. We will then anchor these in our sustainability strategy with milestones and implement them consistently in 2027.

Our challenge

By far the largest share of our emissions does not arise in-house but in the textile supply chain. We can only reduce these emissions in the long term together with our partners along the textile value chain and by using organic natural fibres and recycled fibres. With Klima Charta Zug+, we are starting at our Swiss site in Hagendorn, and in spring 2027 we want to take the second step of defining reduction targets together with our manufacturers and fabric suppliers. One initial idea is to switch one of our best-selling garment fabrics to organic cotton and possibly even recycled polyester. For this, our customers also need to be willing to pay the extra cost, and we need to join forces with competitors in the workwear sector and make use of volume synergies!

The goal for the Swiss textile and clothing industry

By 2030, greenhouse gas emissions in the Swiss textile and clothing industry will be reduced by 50% with the aim of achieving a net zero target by 2050.

The measures for committed actors
1.1

Within 18 months, committed actors collect data on the greenhouse gas emissions in their supply chains (Scope 1, 2 and 3) according to the GHG Protocol.

1.2

Within 24 months, they set ambitious, science-based reduction targets.

1.3

They reduce their emissions according to their individual reduction pathway.
